Fancy trying out some disability sports and finding out what’s available near you? Join Muscular Dystrophy UK for a family fun sports day on Saturday 7 April, from 1pm to 4pm at the Peak in Stirling. It’s free of charge.
Scottish Disability Sports will give you the chance to try out a range of different disability sports, and will let you know what clubs and teams there are near you. Kids will have the chance to try out different activities, such as Powerchair football, Boccia and Swimming.
You’ll also all have the chance to meet other Scottish families, and enjoy some arts and crafts, children’s activities and face-painting.
The PEAK is a brand new indoor complex, which is wheelchair accessible and has onsite parking. Part of the Stirling Sports Village in Forthside, it offers swimming pools, ice rink, climbing wall, sport halls, a fitness suite and a café (Zak’s Kitchen) to eat in or take away.
PAMIS, who have recently acquired the first mobile Changing Places toilet in Scotland (the Pamiloo), will also be supporting the event. Contact PAMIS if you need fully accessible toileting facilities at any events you’re planning.
