The Scottish Powerchair Football Association in partnership with Deans Civil Engineering are delighted to announce that the national team will be taking part in a friendly tournament in Las Rozas, Madrid next week.
The SPFA where first approached by tournament organizers in the early stages of the tournament development and it was an easy yes. The tournament comes at a great stage for our players and coaches development, an opportunity to test ourselves against familiar friends from Geneva 2022, being Spain and new opponents albeit friends already, Mexico.
We built up a good relationship with Spain at our debut European competition last year and have assisted Mexico with their own development in early stages of the association so to come together in a friendly tournament feels right.
The squad have been working hard over two camps at Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre in Largs. The world class facility has provided an amazing environment for our squad to learn, develop and bond together over football.
Head Coach Ryan Alexander named his first squad for Madrid;
Tyler Mclelland – Lothian Wolves
Logan Mitchelson – West Bromwich Albion
Connor McCole – Strathclyde Alba
Eythan Galloway – Tayside Dynamos
Good Luck to everyone going out to represent their country, we look forward to the event as a whole.
