Safeguarding & Governance

The responsibility to safeguard and promote the wellbeing and protection of a child, young person or vulnerable adult does not rest on one person, we are all responsible.
Our unique and wonderful sport brings together individuals from all age groups and genders to train, play and interact together.

Making sure the sport is played in a safe and secure environment in Scotland is of utmost importance to the Scottish Powerchair Football Association and member clubs.
The governing body, associate clubs and those acting on behalf of the clubs have their duty of care to safeguard the individuals under their membership.

As a member of the Scottish FA’s Para-Football ANA we adopt and follow the Scottish FA’s Child Wellbeing and Protection in Scottish Football Strategy which embeds procedure, guidance and safeguards required to provide confidence, support and effective responses necessary.

The governance of the game can also be found on the Scottish Para-Football website.
As a Scottish Para-Football Game Leader we follow the same governing documents and policies. Due to the uniqueness of the sport and having adults and young people playing together we also have our adult safeguarding documents.
