Scotland Invitational 2024

Recently the Scottish Powerchair Football Association hosted a European football tournament in Largs, Inverclyde National Training Center.
The four day event seen England and Spain travel to take on two Scotland sides in a round robin friendly tournament.

The event sanction by FIPFA and EPFA provided a platform for international development, player classification and referee development. With delegates from FIPFA and EPFA in attendance the event was supported with key figures across all platforms of the game.

The SPFA would like to put on record our appreciation to all partners who made the event possible and a overwhelming success. The world class disability friendly facility from SportScotland Inverclyde provided the foundation to run such an event. Investment funding to the national side from the center plus sponsorship funding from Deans Civil Engineering made it possible for all ten players in the Scotland Squad to participate in this tournament and gain valuable game time. Scottish Para-Football funding also supporting to help run the event.

After two days of great football our congratulations goto winners England who scored 29 goals and conceded 1 to pick up the first ever Scottish Invitational trophy. Scotland Blue finished second with Spain in third place and Scotland White in fourth.

It has been a pleasure to host the competition for players, families, friends and delegates. We look forward to visiting the center again twice in May for two Home Nations tournaments.
