SPFA Board Changes

Following today’s AGM there are a couple of changes to our Board.

Willie Pettigrew stepped down as Chair after 2 1/2 successful years at the helm. He was replaced by Craig Peattie. Craig steps up from his role as Vice Chair. Craig commented on his appointment

“I am delighted to take on the role coming from the vice-chair position previously. I can continue the projects and programmes carried out by Willie Pettigrew and the executive committee from the previous years and look to progress the Scottish game. The new look Committee with Peter, Jordann, Sam and Micheal adding to Gareth and myself from the previous committee has the potential to continue to take the game forward in a positive direction.

On a personal note I am honoured to carry on the work of Garry and Willie before me in the chairman’s position and hope that all of the clubs can get behind us as we look to develop the sport here in Scotland.”

Peter McGuire also joins the board as Vice Chair, Peter a player at Glasgow Gladiators and former boccia Paralympian. Peter said after the AGM

“Thank you to everyone for their votes of confidence electing Craig and myself into the positions as chair and vice-chair respectively. Looking back at the foundations placed by our predecessors we want to thank them personally not just from the board but from all of the Powerchair football community for what they have managed to achieved. Now going forward with a clear plan and vision, we hope to bring this great sport to the forefront of all in Scotland and beyond. I myself would like to let everyone involved in Scottish Powerchair Football know that I am open and welcome all dialogue as I always say. It is your ongoing commitment and love for the game and without you, our sport would be nothing without that. Let’s work together, driving football forward.”
